CEAVCO provided UW with a trading room, behavioral and multi-media laboratories, an executive boardroom, conference and seminar rooms and an auditorium.
CEAVCO Audio Visual Company, Inc. was tapped by the University of Wyoming to assist with the conversion of an existing 53,000 square-foot College of Business building.
University officials wanted a facility to house all business disciplines under one roof, thereby making communication and collaboration between departments easier. State-of-the art technology and classroom space were paramount in the project.
The new facility is a complete renovation of the existing structure and 112,000 square-feet of new construction.
The new building features a trading room, behavioral and multi-media laboratories, an executive boardroom, conference and seminar rooms and an auditorium. In collaboration with Vantage Technology Consulting, Adolfson and Peterson Construction, and the faculty within the UW College of Business, CEAVCO utilized a Creston DigitalMedia™ backbone to provide a high-definition digital AV platform throughout the entire building. This platform allows for management, control, and distribution of analog and uncompressed HD digital content. The benefit for students are the latest wired and wireless technologies, including high-definition playback and projection systems in each classroom, video conferencing capabilities, a video production and editing facility, financial data feeds and a stock ticker in the atrium.
From the outside, the much acclaimed Trading Room at the University of Wyoming’s College of Business looks ordinary. Once you step inside, however, you are immediately transported to the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Everywhere you look, the latest advancements in technology and design provide a real life atmosphere for managing investments. There are four 42-inch flat-screen TVs mounted on the back wall, two large projection screens in the front of the room, and a row of clocks showing the times in New York, London, Moscow, and Beijing. On the southern and northern walls, there are 60-inch flat screens. And each of the twelve student workstations is equipped with a top-of-line computer with two screens which provides the ultimate atmosphere of a real live trading situation.
